FOR THE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (Jexpo-2018) FOR ADMISSION TO DIPLOMA IN ENGINEERING / TECHNOLOGY / ARCHITECTURE IN POLYTECHNICS OF WEST BENGAL FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION 2018-19.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR APPLICANTS
a) Citizenship
must be an Indian Citizen
b) Qualification
Must have passed the Secondary (Madhyamik) Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physical Science/Science and Mathematics among others as subjects securing at least 35% marks (no rounding up) in aggregate as per AICTE norms excluding the marks of the subject taken as additional. Candidates appearing in the Secondary (Madhyamik) Examination of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination in 2018 with English, physical Science/Science and Mathematics among others as subject May also apply. However confirming to the benchmark of 35% marks (no rounding up as per AICTE norms) in aggregate excluding the marks of the subject as additional, is a must, failing which candidature is liable to be cancelled even after section in JEXPO-2018.
c) Age
Should not be born after 01.07.2003 there is no upper age limit.
SYLLABUS
Latest revised syllabus on Mathematics and Physical Science of class X under West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) shall be followed for JEXPO-2018.topic wise syllabus is given below :
1. Mathematics.
2. Physical Science.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The prescribed printed OMR Application From along with information Brochure for JEXPO-2018 can be purchased from the Polytechnics as listed this (under admission section) and some selected ITIs, on CASH payment of Rs. 500/- (RS. 250/- for valid Kanyashree enrolees) from 29th January,2018 to 5th March, 2018 on all working days except for 'SUNDAY' and 'GAZETTED HOLIDAY's [between 11.00 a.m. and 4.00 pm on Monday to Friday and between element 11.00 a.m. and 1.00 pm on Saturday].
Also, there will be provision to submit Application Form online in the website www.webscte.org (or any other website as per announcement letter). Fee for Online Application is Rs. 450/- (Rs. 225/- for valid kanyashree enrolees). Procedure of online submission of application and deposition of application fee shall be notified in the Council's website www.webscte.org (or any other website as per announcement later).
Application of outside West Bengal except Tripura have to choose the option of "zone of examination" form among the codes of districts Kolkata, Howrah, 24 Parganas (North) or 24 Parganas (south) only.
N.B.: In case of Mining Engineering discipline, there are some statutory restrictions in Mining Act, 1952 in respect of engagement of female staff in underground mines and working time of female staff in any type of mines.
