ENGINEERING GEOLOGY

Engineering Geology is a part of Civil Engineering. In this part we study about our Earth surface.
now Let we understand, What is Geology?
geology is a combination of two words.
Geo: Earth.
Ology: Study of.

So, in Geology we study about The inner & outer part of Earth surface. This study is expect about Tunnel making, Building making, Bridge making like this. When we make this thing there before we have a clear concept about that earth surface/soil.
In this part we study about the interior/exterior part o earth surface.

We can divide this topic into two Branches:

1. Core Branches.
2. Allied Branches.

In Core Branches we study these topics:

• Physical Geology.
• Minerology.
• Crystallography.
• Geolmorphology.
• Hydrogeology.
• straitigraphy.
• Palaeontology.
• Economic Geology etc.

In Allied Branches we study these topics:

• Enginering Geology.
• Mining Geology.
• Geophysics.
• Geohydrology.
• Geochemistry.

So Engineering Geology is the Allied Branch of Geology.

Core Branches:

Physical Geolog: It is Study of on surface of the earth.(i.e: Mountain, valleys, lake, River volcanoes, Weathering, land slide, Earthquake like this.
Minerology: It is study of Mineral's internal structure. In Minerology we study Mineral's from,crystal plane, geometry, symmetry, Optical property.
Optical Property:which bonding in Mineral, How much hard it is, what the structure/shape & why.
Straitigraphy: The study of streta/layers.
Palaeontology: The study of Fossils(fuel, petroleum, natural gases like this type of Hydrocarbons),
Economic Geology: The study of Economic values mineral's(i.e. Talk, Graphite, Asbestos, Gypsum, Magnesite, Chromite, Barytes, Diamond, Gems etc).

Allite Branches:

Engineering Geology: It is use in Civil Engineering Construction.
Mining Geology: It is the study of Mineral's Exploration.
Geophysics: It is a Technical method of Geology.(how much depth water in ground, How much Mineral, Ground Water).
Geohydrology: Combination of Ground Water & Geology.
Geochemistry: It is Study of different chemical.(Chemical reaction on rocks/soils like this).
